Drummer Anton Eger, hailing from Copenhagen, spent five years at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen between 2003 and 2008. As a teenager, Anton played cymbals in a marching band, developed an interest in classical percussion, and formed his first punk band. After a year serving as a military drummer in His Majesty's King's Guard in Norway, he longed for new horizons. Jazz and rhythmically complex music became significant aspects of his life. Since then, he has traveled the world performing both contemporary jazz and stadium rock, firmly anchored in both worlds.
Eger is one of the recipients of the Parliamentary Jazz Award (2017) and has been nominated twice for the MOBO Anglo-Scandinavian trio Phronesis, founded in 2005. He has been the drummer and co-producer in the group of Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset since 2010. He is also a member of the synth-based electronic duo 'RKDIA'. In 2020, he was awarded the "Best Musician" prize at the Danish Music Awards Jazz.
"Possibly the craziest drummer, visually speaking, this side of The Muppets' Animal... and while capable of wild and crazy play, he's equally adept at contributing delicate textures, softer timbres, and gentler pulses." - All About Jazz
