Momi Maiga is a Senegalese musician, composer, and singer. He has been playing the kora, a 21 or 22-string African lute-harp, since he was six years old. Maiga is a daring composer with a strong urge to blend with other musicians and music genres. On his debut album titled Nio, he presents works in which he combines ethnic jazz, flamenco, and the sounds of his Mandinka roots. He connects the kora with classical instruments such as the violin and cello. He is a promising artist who has made an impression and completed a European tour last year. He has now been based in Spain for four years, where he is beginning to make a name for himself on the national music scene.
